The view from the roof terrace
We have a self-catering property to rent in Calle Las Parras, in the barrio árabe. It has four bedrooms (two doubles, a twin and a single), two bathrooms, kitchen, dining room and sitting room (left). (AWW)
The property is an old town house. It's third-storey terrace at the back of the house looks up to La Encarnación - the stunning 15th century church that dominates Alhama's skyline - and the large split level roof terrace has views to olive tree-covered hills outside town. Right: upper rear bedroom. (AWW)

To the rear of the property there is a shady, enclosed patio, pictured at the foot of this page. There is also a small balcony to the front of the property, from which the picture on the left was taken.
Please note that there are a lot of stairs in the house, and it may therefore be deemed unsuitable for very young children or those with mobility problems. That aside, the house has a delightful feel of going on and on and on. Right, the top floor bedroom (AWW).

The kitchen is fully equipped with an oven and hob, a toaster and a fridge with freezer compartment. Other equipment includes iron, ironing board, washing machine and hair dryer. There is a TV (with DVD), a CD/radio and a small library of books. (AWW)
Winter evenings can be cold in Alhama so heaters and extra blankets will be available, and there is a wood-burning stove in the dining room. (AWW)
In the middle of summer, on the other hand, when you've had your fill of sunbathing or hiking through the gorge, you may simply want to sit in a cool, shady patio sipping long, cool drinks. (AWW)
